About Werkvolk

Werkvolk is a matching platform with two sides. Skilled workers use a free app: you fill in your profile with your experience, your requirements and a short personality test, and you only see vacancies that fit. Employers use a portal to manage vacancies, matches and conversations. If a skilled worker shows interest in your vacancy and you show interest back, you have a match and you chat directly. No CV, no cover letter, no middleman.

For skilled workers and operational profiles on one side, and the employers looking for them on the other. Think welders, forklift operators, warehouse staff, technicians, cooks, receptionists and administrative profiles. On the employer side, small family businesses and organisations with several sites both use the platform.

No. Werkvolk is neither. Every vacancy on the platform is a direct contract with the employer itself, part time or full time. There is no consultant standing between you, and no commission is charged per placement.

Werkvolk is live across the whole of Limburg today. That focus is deliberate: as an employer you get candidates from your own region instead of a thin spread across the country, and as a skilled worker you work close to home. We are expanding into the rest of Belgium step by step. If you live in a province where we are not live yet, you can already download the app and set a job alert.

Mainly construction, production and industry, logistics and transport, technical and maintenance work, hospitality, cleaning and administration. Our job categories follow the VDAB occupation list, so you will find both broad roles and specialisations such as pipe welder, reach truck operator or security systems installer.

For skilled workers Werkvolk is completely free. You download the app, create a profile, match and chat without ever paying anything. For employers your first hire is currently free, no matter how many vacancies you post. After that you pay 149 euro per 4 weeks per vacancy you keep online, with a minimum of 12 weeks per activated vacancy.

Job boards work with keywords and static profiles: you search, then you send a CV. Werkvolk turns that around. The matching looks at your requirements, your work experience, your travel time, your personality and the culture of the team, and surfaces only the vacancies that fit. Employers do not get a database of old CVs, they get people who actually saw and liked their vacancy.

Werkvolk was founded in Limburg, after months of conversations at job fairs and inside companies. The founders went round with a notebook, talking to HR managers, business owners and skilled workers about what actually goes wrong. Three things came back every time: vague pay, no reply after applying, and mismatches that are not about skills but about culture. The platform is built around those three problems.

The platform is built around skilled workers and operational roles, and that is also where our candidate supply sits. Administrative and support roles such as customer service, reception or administrative assistant are definitely covered. For management positions and highly specialised office profiles we are not the strongest channel today, and we would rather say that up front than afterwards.
